Okay, Chris, uploaded two photos. I thought you might get a kick out of seeing the boiler anyhow. It's pretty neat.

Oh yeah, and I wondered why you had two contests going for this. I saw some really wonderful images uploaded yesterday with trains by Mike Savad. If you haven't seen them, recommend you take a look.

Thanks, Chris. I have one not so good shot from the rear looking forward to the stack that shows the equipment for the boiler and where the coal goes if that's what you're looking for. Let me know.

Artist's Description

This steam locomotive is one-eighth the size of prototype railroad equipment. The rails are spaced 7-1/2 inches apart. This means the trains are a comfortable size to ride on, but not too big to transport. The engines weigh anywhere from 100 to 2000 pounds, and can pull from one to 50+ people, depending on size. There is a wonderful track in Columbia, TN where these operate, complete with crossings, bridges, etc. Very fun! :) The blue you see in the upper right of the picture is the seat. This particular one actually uses coal. So neat.

About Kristin Elmquist

Kristin Elmquist

I have been taking photographs since my Mom gave me my first camera for my 16th birthday. Sure wish we'd had digital way back then. I have no formal training but people tell me I have a good eye. I enjoy taking photos of just about anything, but prefer landscapes and nature photography. I also enjoy using the available filters in Paint Shop Pro. Even Ansel Adams fiddled with his photos by using exacto knives and chemicals. :) If you would like wording added to any of these images, or a color image in black and white, or a black and white image in color, please send me an email through this site, and I will be very happy to customize for you. Thanks for viewing my work.
